Hungry for more

Whilst my mom was unaware of how the spirit realm worked, she was hungry for it, just as many are today. What she didn't know was that her search for supernatural experiences led her into the spirit realm of the demonic.

She still had intuition to know that what she was experiencing was evil, but sometimes, curiosity speaks louder than caution and in this episode you will hear some of her hair-raising experiences.

Forces that operate within the spirit realm

We need to be aware that there are two very clear forces that operate in the spirit realm.

1. The heavenly realm which is the home of God, His Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Angels. The Almighty God, creator of Heaven and earth who's love for us is evident in the fact that He sent His Son to earth, to die on a cross for our sins, so that we can be forgiven of all the wrong things we've done and come into a relationship with Him. As you read this, Jesus, God's Son, is sitting at His Father's right hand, and is praying for us. Whilst the Holy Spirit has been sent to earth to be the healer and guide in the everyday lives of God's children. God's angels work on our behalf to speak to us, to protect and to fight for us, to strengthen us and minister to us.
2. The demonic realm which is all around us and is where satan (he doesn't qualify for a capital 'S' in my book) and his cohorts dwell. Their sole purpose is to kill,steal and destroy (as referenced in John 10:10). satan (still not getting a capital 'S') is the father of deception and so he creates counterfeit experiences of God's power to lure his prey into his clutches. Our curiosity can sometimes result in us opening doors into his demonic realm (for example through tarot card reading, spiritualism through spirit mediums, ouija boards etc) as Mary addresses in today's episode. When we realize that we've opened doors into the demonic realm (you'll be able to identify if you have after today's episode), it's important to close those doors or else satan and his demons have legal right to remain and cause no end of chaos, confusion and damage.

What I love about God in Heaven is that He doesn't condemn us. We don't have to be guilt-ridden because of the doors we have opened. We can boldly yet humbly come before Him, confess our sins and He promises in the Bible that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleans us from all unrighteousness. You can look this promise up in 1 John 1:9.

As already mentioned, Mary shares several scenes from her life where she dabbled in the occult, attended a spiritualist meeting and saw things in the spirit realm that scared the living daylights out of her. Yet she also shares scenes where she saw the power of God at work, which didn't scare in. In fact, it excited her and excites her still to this very day.

Mary also shares of dreams that God gave her in her sleep that were actually purposed to prepare her for specific events to come. God still speaks in dreams and visions today. These dreams are what I call 'direct downloads from heaven.' I often experience these kinds of dreams and in fact, God promises that in the last days He will pour out His Spirit of all flesh. There will be dreams and visions, messages from God Himself, specifically for His children to share with our broken world. Look up Acts 2:17.

You will hear what Mary did to renounce the demonic in her life. Some people listening to/watching this episode may be freaked out because of their understanding of 'exorcism'. Allow me to settle your heart on this:

Wikipedia defines exorcism as follows:

Exorcism - the religious or spiritual practice of evicting demons, jinns or other malevolent spiritual entities from a person, or an area, that is believed to be possessed.

The Cambridge dictionary defines exorcism as the process of forcing an evil spirit to leave a person or place by using prayers or magic.

When someone realizes that they have opened the door to the demonic and want to be set free, they need to understand the difference between demonic exorcism and God-led freedom before proceeding.

Demonic exorcism:

If a person facilitating the exorcism does NOT believe that Jesus is the Son of God, came to earth to die for us, nor believes in Jesus's cleansing blood, then the exorcism is demonic, is not of God and will lead to greater torment, anguish of soul and ultimately catastrophic consequences.

God-led freedom (also known as deliverance):

If however the person facilitating the exorcism is born again, filled with the Spirit of God and believes that Jesus is the Son of God, was sent to earth to die for us and that His blood cleanses us from all our sins, then the freedom of the demonic is of God, and the person will have the full backing of heaven, and will be set free as promised in John 8:36.

Closing thoughts

For any parents reading this, it's important that you are aware of the kind of music that your kids/teenagers are listening to and the videos that they are watching. I have observed a surge in the dabbling of the spirit world by famous artists around the world who now include demonic activity in their videos and live concerts. Horror movies are also gateways into the demonic realm. We as parents need to be alert to the rise of the demonic and the anti-Christ in our world. Not to fear it, but to stand against it.
